Day 1: ARRIVAL - DELHI
Departure with flight to Delhi. Upon your arrival in Delhi, a representative of our office will come to welcome you and accompany you to the hotel. Overnight at hotel.
Day 2: DELHI
After breakfast at the hotel, tour of the Old Delhi (Shahajahanabad), the Red Fort, the Jama Masjid Friday Mosque with a thrilling ride on the rickshaw in the narrow and crowded streets of Old Delhi. Following is a visit to New Delhi with its most important monuments: the colonial government buildings in front of the India Gate, the Mausoleum of Emperor Humayun and the Qutub Minar complex. Overnight.
Day 3: DELHI - SAMODE - JAIPUR (265 km. about 6 hours)
After breakfast departure for Samode. Arrival and visit of the picturesque village and the splendid Samode palace. Afternoon continue to Jaipur. Arrival and overnight at the hotel.
Day 4: JAIPUR
Breakfast at the hotel and immediately visit the Amber Fort, 11 km away from Jaipur, the imposing fortress of Rajput civilization. The last stretch of climb to the fort is mounted on the back of placid elephants almost to recall the ancient deeds of the Maharaja. Inside the walls you can visit palaces and pavilions of refined beauty and the small but precious temple of the Goddess Kali. In the afternoon tour of the city, capital of Rajasthan, the "pink city", one of the most beautiful and picturesque in India. Visit to the famous and depicted in all the postcards Hawa Mahal, the palace of the winds and the palace of the Maharaja (City Palace), largely converted into a museum and the Astronomical Observatory (Jantar Mantar). Overnight.
Day 5: JAIPUR - FATEHPUR SIKRI - AGRA (235 km. about 5.5 hours)
After breakfast transfer to Agra, stopping at Fatehpur Sikri for the visit of the deserted capital of the sixteenth century, abandoned after only 14 years of its construction, with beautiful red sandstone buildings. Arrival in Agra and accommodation at the hotel, afternoon is dedicated to the visit of Taj Mahal, named the first wonder of the world, reachable by horse-drawn carriage, called "Tonga". Overnight at hotel.
Day 6: AGRA - DELHI (230 km. about 5 hours)
After breakfast in the morning visit of the Agra Fort, former imperial residence of the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan. Towards mid-day departure for Delhi, along the way stop for the visit of the Tomb of Akbar to Sikandra. Arrival in Delhi and overnight at hotel near the airport.
Day 7: DELHI - LEH
After breakfast, departure with the flight to Leh, arrival and transfer to the hotel, rest of the day available for acclimatization and for the first tour of the city.
Day 8: LEH - SPITOK - STOK - LEH
After breakfast, visit of the Tibetan monastery of Spitok and Leh. The visit of the Tibetan monasteries of Ladakh offers a unique opportunity to meet the Tibetan exiles, the world of those who escaped to Nepal in front of the Chinese invasion and, from here, sheltered in the valley of Ladakh, which is similar to Tibet. The temples, well preserved and sometimes animated by the presence of the faithful, express a particular art but of extreme interest. Spitok: is a collection of buildings that has been recognized as a 15th century origin, while Phyang is a main monastery of the Drugungpa sect, whose foundation dates back to the 16th century. Below, a visit to the Stok royal palace. In the afternoon, visit of Leh and its important palace / palace. The palace of Leh, although very in ruins, makes the grandeur and richness of this Tibetan lordship good. The style and grandeur of the buildings is clearly inspired by the Potala of Lhasa. Overnight.
Day 9: LEH - SHEY - THIKSEY - HEMIS - LEH
Breakfast at the hotel and visit to the monasteries of Shey, Thiksey and Hemis. Shey: crossing the Indus valley in an incredibly green natural setting for barely popped barley, you reach Shey, a complex that includes a very ruined royal palace and a gompa of the grupta sect. Thiksey: an imposing building, one of the oldest monastery in Ladakh (15th century), controlled by the Gelupka sect, is perhaps the most populated monastic monastery, the one where it is easier to attend, especially early in the morning, to highly evocative ceremonies. The place is lovely, the view of the wonderful Indus valley. Finally Hemis, famous name and monastery. Its collection of tanke, sculptures and paintings is, in absolute, one of the most important of the Tibetan culture. In the evening return to Leh. Overnight at hotel.
Day 10: LEH - VALLE DI NUBRA
Breakfast at the hotel and departure for Nubra Valley, crossing the Khardung La pass (5606 meters) considered the highest in the world, arriving at the Nubra Valley, recently opened to tourism. This was the passage of the old caravan route between East Tibet and Turkistan through the Karakoram pass. The inhabitants of the valley villages, mostly Buddhists, practice polyandry, an ancient tradition for which the brothers share the same wife. Visit the Somur where Samling's old Gompa is located. Overnight.
Day 11: VALLE DI NUBRA
After breakfast excursion in this region, in a spectacular and unique desert / mountainous landscape that already evokes the scenarios of Central Asia. Overnight.
Day 12: VALLE DI NUBRA - LEH
Breakfast and departure for Leh, going back to the way. Free afternoon to complete the visit of the city and to stroll through markets and shops full of handicrafts. Overnight at hotel.
Day 13: LEH - DELHI - DEPARTURE
After breakfast departure by flight to Delhi, arrival in Delhi and hotel accommodation near the international airport. Late evening transfer to the airport and departure by night flight.
