Day 1: ARRIVAL - DELHI

Departure with flight to Delhi. Upon your arrival in Delhi, a representative of our office will come to welcome you and accompany you to the hotel. Overnight at hotel.

Day 2: DELHI

After breakfast at the hotel, tour of the Old Delhi (Shahajahanabad), the Red Fort, the Jama Masjid Friday Mosque with a thrilling ride on the rickshaw in the narrow and crowded streets of Old Delhi. Following is a visit to New Delhi with its most important monuments: the colonial government buildings in front of the India Gate, the Mausoleum of Emperor Humayun and the Qutub Minar complex. Overnight.

Day 3: DELHI - AMRITSAR

Breakfast at the hotel and departure for Amritsar by the Shatabadi train (duration: 6 hours). Arrival and transfer to the hotel. Afternoon visit of the city. Amritsar, founded about 400 years ago, is famous for the Golden Temple, place of sacred worship for the Sikhs. The marble building stands in the middle of an artificial lake and combines the Muslim style with Hindu elements. The dome, which represents an inverted lotus flower, was made to coat in 1802 with over 100 kilos of pure gold. Following the excursion to "Bagha Border" the border of India and Pakistan to attend the ceremony of the chiusyra of the border. A huge crowd follows the event on both sides of the border, siding with each other's nation with cheers that are whipped by a voice to the microphone, while the guards proud of so much participation march up and down military steps so exaggerated in the amplitude that they sound like a farce. Day 4: AMRITSAR - DHARAMSALA (197 Km. - about 6 hours)

Breakfast at the hotel and departure for Dharamsala, exiled residence of the Dalai Lama. Arrival and accommodation at the hotel. Afternoon tour of the Buddhist temples in Dharamsala. Overnight at hotel.

Day 5: DHARAMSALA - MANDI - MANALI (253 Km. - about 7 hours)

Long day of transfer to get to Manali, one of the most important mountain tourist centers of India, famous for its flora and fauna: brown and black bears, ibex, roe deer, leopards, black panthers, etc. Along the way visit of Mandi: ancient center not without a certain charm, it was the capital of a small principality rajput entered under the British influence in 1846. Continue to Manali. Arrival and accommodation at the hotel.

Day 6: MANALI

Breakfast at the hotel and visit the beautiful mountain resort at the foot of the incredible and fascinating Rohtang pass. Interesting the old part of the village, with traditional houses, and the temple of Hadimba, from 1553, entirely built in wood. Overnight at hotel.

Day 7: MANALI - KEYLONG (115 km. about 6 hours)

After breakfast departure for the Rothang pass (3978 meters above sea level) which gives access to the Spiti valley. You reach Keylong, the former capital of the principality of Lahul Spiti. Arrival and accommodation at the hotel.

Day 8: KEYLONG - SARCHU (165 km. about 8 hours)

After breakfast departure for Sarchu. Descend towards the Darcha plain and go up to the Baralacha pass (4883), one of the world's highest paved passages, to enter the easternmost Zanskar basin. Dinner and overnight in a tented camp.

Day 9: SARCHU - LEH (233 km. about 8 hours)

In a mountain landscape of rare beauty we observe the chains of the Zanskar towards Leh. Cross the Lachlung pass (5060 meters above sea level) and then reach the highest pass of the route, the Taglang pass (5328 meters above sea level), the second highest road pass in the world. You descend into semi-desert valleys passing through the pastures of Rumtse, Gya and Meru. Glaciers in the distance, rocky peaks, tiny plots of cultivated land: incredible! Arrival in Leh in the evening. Overnight at hotel.

Day 10 : LEH - SPITOK - STOK - LEH

After breakfast, visit of the Tibetan monastery of Spitok and Leh. The visit of the Tibetan monasteries of Ladakh offers a unique opportunity to meet the Tibetan exiles, the world of those who escaped to Nepal in front of the Chinese invasion and, from here, sheltered in the valley of Ladakh so similar to Tibet. The temples, well preserved and sometimes animated by the presence of the faithful, express a particular art but of extreme interest. Spitok: is a collection of buildings that has been recognized as a 15th century origin, while Phyang is a main monastery of the Drugungpa sect, whose foundation dates back to the 16th century. Below, a visit to the Stok royal palace. In the afternoon, visit of Leh and its important palaces. The palace of Leh, although very in ruins, makes the grandeur and richness of this Tibetan lordship good. The style and grandeur of the buildings is clearly inspired by the Potala of Lhasa. Overnight.

Day 11: LEH - SHEY - THIKSEY - HEMIS - LEH

Breakfast at the hotel and tour of the monasteries of Shey, Thiksey and Hemis. Shey: crossing the Indus valley in an incredibly green natural setting for barely popped barley, you reach Shey, a complex that includes a very ruined royal palace and a gompa of the grupta sect. Thiksey: an imposing building, one of the oldest monastery of Ladakh (15th century), controlled by the Gelupka sect, is perhaps the most populated monks' monastery, the one where it is easier to attend, especially early in the morning, to highly evocative ceremonies. The place is lovely, the view of the wonderful Indus valley. Finally Hemis, famous name and monastery. Its collection of tanke, sculptures and paintings is, in absolute, one of the most important of the Tibetan culture. In the evening return to Leh. Overnight at hotel.

Day 12: LEH - NUBRA VALLEY

Breakfast at the hotel and departure for Nubra Valley, crossing the Khardung La pass (5606 meters) considered the highest in the world, arriving at the Nubra Valley, recently opened to tourism. This was the passage of the old caravan route between East Tibet and Turkistan through the Karakoram pass. The inhabitants of the valley villages, mostly Buddhists, practice polyandry, an ancient tradition for which the brothers share the same wife. Visit the Somur where Samling's old Gompa is located. Overnight.

Day 13: NUBRA VALLEY

After breakfast excursion in this region, in a spectacular and unique desert / mountainous landscape that already evokes the scenes of Central Asia. Overnight.

Day 14: NUBRA VALLEY - LEH

Breakfast and departure for Leh, going back to the way. Free afternoon to complete the visit of the city and to stroll through markets and shops full of handicrafts. Overnight at hotel.

Day 15: LEH - KARGIL (230 Km. about 7 hours)

After breakfast, departure by land to Kargil, possibility to stop along the road to admire the beautiful scenery, along the way stop for a visit to the two monasteries Lamayuru and Mulberkh, arrival in Kargil and overnight.

Day 16: KARGIL - SONAMARG - SRINAGAR (about 9 hours)

Breakfast at the hotel and departure for Srinagar, crossing the mountains and passing over 3000m, along the panoramic road in the green valley of Sonamarg. Arrival and accommodation in houseboats.

Day 17: SRINAGAR

After breakfast In the morning visit to the Moghul Nishat Bagh and Shalimar Bagh gardens, built in 1632 AD. Afternoon excursion in "shikara" (a kind of gondola) on Dal lake and the gardens around Dal lake in the midst of giant orchids. Overnight.

Day 18: SRINAGAR - GULMARG - SRINAGAR (60 km. about 2 hours)

Breakfast at the hotel and full day excursion to Sonamarg located on the top of the Sindh valley. Sonamarg is surrounded by mountains and luxurious forests. Return to Srinagar and overnight stay in houseboats.

Day 19: SRINAGAR

After breakfast, visit in the morning the maze of the narrow streets of the old city (the Venice of Asia), with its wooden houses and mosques. Optional visit to the "Tomb of Christ". Legend has it that Jesus, after the crucifixion, was not dead; after a hospital stay, he returned to strength, along with his mother, traveled a long journey in Asia and, struck by the beauty of the place, stopped in Kashmir, in Srinagar, where he lived and died at the age of one hundred and twenty years.

Day 20: SRINAGAR - DELHI - DEPARTURE

After breakfast departure by flight to Delhi, arrival in Delhi and hotel accommodation near the international airport. Late evening transfer to the airport and departure by night flight.
