Programma del tour (giornaliero):

Day 1: ARRIVAL - CHENNAI ( MADRAS )

Departure with flight to Chennai. Upon your arrival in Chennai a representative of our office will come to welcome you and accompany you to the hotel. Overnight at hotel.

Day 2: CHENNAI - KANCHIPURAM - MAHABALIPURAM

After breakfast, excursion to Kanchipuram and in particular to the ancient temples of Kailashanatha and Ekanbaranathar. Visit to a silk processing center. Continue to Mahabalipuram. Tour of Mahabalipuram: tour of the famous temples on the beach, the first example of Hindu templar art. Overnight.

Day 3: MAHABALIPURAM - PONDICHERRY - SWAMIMALAI (275 km. about 6 hours)

After breakfast, departure to Pondicherry for the visit of the Sri Aurobindo Ashram. Continue to Swamimalai. Arrival and accommodation at the hotel. Overnight.

0Day 4: SWAMIMALAI - DARASURAM - TANJORE (40 km. about 1 hour)

Breakfast at the hotel and available morning to learn the different types of traditional activities of the Dravidian community. In the afternoon, departure to Tanjore with a stop, just before the city, for the visit of the great Chola temple of Darasuram. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 5: TANJORE - TRICHY - TANJORE

After breakfast, visit the Brihadeshwara temple dedicated to the god Shiva and the museum which houses the precious collection of bronzes from the Chola dynasty. In the afternoon, return to Trichy to visit the city-temple of Srirangam, where pilgrims celebrate ancient rituals on the banks of the river Kaveri. Overnight.

Day 6: TANJORE - MADURAI (180 km. about 4 hours)

After breakfast, transfer to Madurai. Visit the colorful temple dedicated to the goddess Meenakshi, the Museum and the royal palace of Tirumalai Nayak. In the evening there will be a ceremony (Puja) in the temple. Overnight.

Day 7: MADURAI - PERIYAR (145 km. about 4.5 hours)

After breakfast transfer to Periyar. Afternoon boat excursion in the lake located in the heart of the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary, to observe the animals that are going to water. Overnight.

Day 8: PERIYAR - KUMARAKOM (130 km. about 4 hours)

After breakfast we leave for Kumarakom, in the heart of the backwaters, through the artificial canals, rivers, and natural lakes that cross the Kerala region like a dense web. Arrival and check-in to the hotel. In the afternoon a short boat ride by motorboat to the narrowest canals. Overnight at hotel.

Day 9: KUMARAKOM - ALLEPPEY (HOUSEBOAT)

Morning at leisure for relaxation or for Ayurvedic treatments. Towards noon boarding houseboat for a ride in the widest channels of the Backwaters and overnight on board.

Day 10: COCHIN

After breakfast disembarkation and departure by car to Cochin. Arrival and tour of the most cosmopolitan city of South India: the Dutch Palace in Mattancherry, the church of San Francesco which preserves the tombstone of Vasco de Gama, the synagogue with the Jewish quarter and the street of antique dealers and Chinese networks. In the late afternoon dance show - Kathakali theater. Overnight.

Day 11: COCHIN - BANGALORE - MYSORE

Breakfast at the hotel and departure by flight to Bangalore. Upon arrival continue to Mysore (140 km approximately 3 hours) with stop and visit the famous temple of Somnathpur, a masterpiece of inlay in the stone. Overnight.

Day 12: MYSORE - HASSAN (120 km. about 3 hours)

After breakfast, visit the city of the maharaja palace and the colorful fruit and flower market. Afternoon transfer to Hassan. Arrival and accommodation at the hotel. Overnight.

Day 13: HASSAN - SRAVANABELGOLA - HASSAN

Breakfast and in the morning visit the temples of Belur and Halebid, splendid examples of the architecture of the Hoyshala dynasty. Afternoon excursion to Sravanabelgola for the visit of the Jainist temple located on an imposing hill that houses the gigantic monolithic statue of Bahubali. Overnight.

Day 14: HASSAN - BANGALORE - RETURN

After breakfast, transfer to Bangalore (120 km approximately 3 hours). Afternoon a short visit to the city. No overnight stay. Transfer to the airport and departure.
