Day 1: ARRIVAL - CHENNAI

Departure with flight to Chennai. Upon your arrival in Chennai, a representative of our office will come to welcome you and accompany you to the hotel. Overnight at hotel.    

Day 2: CHENNAI – KANCHIPURAM - MAHABALIPURAM (160 km. about 4 hours)

After breakfast, a half-day tour of the city: the Bronze Museum, the Fruit and Flower Market, the Court, the Fort Museum, the Marina Beach and the Cathedral of St. Thomas. In the afternoon departure for Mahabalipuram. On the road short visit to Kanchipuram. Arrival and check in of the hotel. Overnight.

Day 3: MAHABALIPURAM – PONDICHERRY (100 km. about 2 hours) 

After breakfast, visit of Mahabalipuram and its 7th century temples. Following, departure for Pondicherry. Arrival and check in at the hotel. In the evening, walk through the Pondicherry market. Overnight.

Day 4: PONDICHERRY – CHIDAMBARAM – SWAMIMALAI (160 km. about 4 hours) 

After breakfast visit of Pondicherry. Visit the city and the Ashram of Sri Aurobindo. Following departure for Swamimalai. Along the way visit the Nataraja Temple in Chidambaram. The roof of the sanctum sanctorum is covered with gold plates! Arrival at Swamimalai and overnight.

Day 5: SWAMIMALAI - – DARASURAM  - TANJORE – TRICHY (100 km. about 2 hours) 

After breakfast visit of Darasuram with its majestic temple, a UNESCO heritage site. Arrival in Tanjore and visit to the temple of Brihadeshwara dedicated to the god Shiva and the Museum which houses the precious collection of bronzes of the Chola dynasty. In the afternoon departure for Trichy to visit the city-temple of Srirangam, where pilgrims celebrate ancient rituals on the banks of the river Kaveri. Overnight in Trichy.

Day 6: TRICHY – MADURAI (135 km. about 3 hours) 

After breakfast, departure for Madurai. Arrival in Madurai, rest of the day free. Overnight.

Day 7: MADURAI

Visit the colorful temple dedicated to the goddess Meenakshi, the Museum and the royal palace of Tirumalai Nayak. In the evening there will be a ceremony (Puja) in the temple. Overnight.

Day 8: MADURAI – PERIYAR (145 km. about 4 hours) 

After breakfast transfer to Periyar. Afternoon boat excursion in the lake located in the heart of the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary, to observe the animals that are going to water. Overnight.

Day 9: PERIYAR – KUMARAKOM – ALLEPPEY (Backwaters cruise till Alleppey)

After breakfast departure for Kumarakom. Arrival and visit the Kumarakom Bird sanctuary which is the most visited park in Kumarakom. There are many species of birds, especially in winter, when they migrate here in the heat. In the early afternoon check in in a traditional Kerala house boat to have a complete experience among the famous Backwaters of Kerala, intricate artificial canals that branch off like a dense web, through cultivated fields, villages of fishermen, etc. Lunch, dinner, overnight on board.

Day 10: ALLEPPEY – COCHIN (65 km. about 1 hour) 

Breakfast on board and check out the Houseboat and departure by car to Cochin. Arrival and check in at the hotel. Rest of the day tour of the city with the Dutch Palace in Mattancherry, the Synagogue in the heart of the Jewish quarter, the Church of St. Francis, the oldest church in India. In the evening, we will attend a Kathakkali dance show. Overnight at hotel in Cochin.

Day 11: COCHIN – BANGALORE – SRIRANGAPATNAM – MYSORE (140 km. about 3 hours) 

Early in the morning transfer to the airport to take the flight to Bangalore. Upon arrival in Bangalore, transfer to Mysore. Check in the hotel and in the evening walk to the flower and fruit market. Overnight.

Day 12: MYSORE – HASSAN (115 km. about 3 hours) 

After breakfast visit the city of the palace of the Maharaja and the Temple of Taurus and the 2000 year old "Chamumdi Hill Temple". Follow-up to Hassan. Arrival and overnight at the hotel.

Day 13: HASSAN – BELUR – HALEBID - HASSAN

Breakfast and in the morning visit the temples of Belur and Halebid, splendid examples of the "stellar" architecture of the Hoyshala dynasty. Overnight.

Day 14: HASSAN – SRVANBELGOLA - BANGALORE – DEPARTURE (190 km. about 4 hours)

After breakfast departure for Bangalore. On the way visit of Shravanabelagola for the tour of the Jainist temple located on an imposing hill that houses the gigantic monolithic statue of Bahubali, the highest monolithic statue in the world. Continue to Bangalore and directly transfer to the international airport to take the flight back home.
